Sam McCollum

Biography

Sam is a Partner in the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations team at TLT. He acts for banks, lenders, payment service providers and insurers in a wide range of disputes in the financial services sector.

He is particularly known for his expertise representing financial institutions in professional negligence claims arising out of commercial and residential property transactions. He has experience acting in high value, multi-party claims, and managing portfolios of lower value claims, against a range of professionals. Sam also acts for clients defending allegations of professional negligence.

Sam also specialises in cards and payments disputes and has experience dealing with a range of consumer, business and merchant disputes in the payments space, and providing strategic advice and training.

Sam is focused on achieving good commercial outcomes for his clients and takes a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes. He is a firm believer in alternative dispute resolution and is experienced in mediation.

Sam joined TLT as a trainee in 2007, qualified into the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations team in 2009 and became a Partner in 2022.
