Biography

Sinéad leads the commercial litigation team at BDB Pitmans LLP. She is an experienced litigator used to dealing with complex, high-profile and high value commercial disputes with a particular interest in corporate disputes. Her cases include acting in an early leading case on the statutory derivative claim under the Companies Act 2006, multi-million pound swap mis-selling claims and dealing with a multi-million pound dispute between shareholders in a complex off-shore structure as well as numerous, vanilla contractual disputes, breach of warranty and professional negligence claims. Whilst Sinéad deals with any dispute in the commercial arena, she has a particular interest in shareholder disputes with recently reported cases including acting for the Respondent Shareholder in Re Dinglis Properties Ltd [2021]1 All ER 685 where the allegation of a quasi-partnership was successfully opposed and in associated proceedings concerning non-contractual agency in a family business both at first instance and at the Court of Appeal (Dinglis Properties Limited v Dinglis Management Limited [2019] EWCA Civ 127).
