Biography

I am a Chartered Building Surveyor and Bond Solon trained expert witness with over 20 years of experience. I continue to act as a Chartered Building Surveyor, mainly in domestic and residential areas including provision of RICS Building and Homebuyer Reports, Structural Surveys, Party Wall matters, Architectural Design and JCT Contract Administration.

I have completed numerous reports on building matters for Court use, both as Expert and Single Joint Expert including (but not restricted to) Housing Disrepair, failed cavity wall insulation, defective workmanship, personal injury, professional negligence, and building defects. All my reports are prepared in accordance with CPR part 35 requirements and are well researched and written, clear and well presented. I have received formal legal training in report writing, civil law & procedure, courtroom skills and cross-examination, which is certificated by Cardiff University. I am a member of the Construction Law Society and undertake regular training and CPD.

For Expert Witness instructions I operate throughout England and Wales. With regard to professional negligence matters, I provide reports on:

- Surveyors who have failed to report on asbestos, structural, subsidence, damp, rot, water ingress, and other significant issues.
- Surveyors who have not acted appropriately under the Party Wall etc Act 1996
- Surveyors / Architectural Designers who have not obtained appropriate building control approvals
- Surveyors / Architectural Designers who have provided incorrect or negligent design of building works.
- Surveyors / Architectural Designers who have failed to administer the building contract correctly and/or supervise building works correctly.
