Biography

I have a particular specialism and significant experience in negligence claims in the financial services sector, including cases against financial advisers, mortgage brokers and pension providers relating to negligent mis-selling and mis-management of pensions, investments and mortgages.

I was involved in, from commencement to judgment, large, high court financial services cases such as Worthing v Lloyds Bank Plc which related to an investment portfolio and Jackson v Leslie & Nuding, which involved the mis-selling of a UCIS investing in second hand traded life insurance policies. I was also involved, at the outset, in Adams v Options UK Personal Pensions LLP (formerly Adams v Carey), a case against a SIPP provider, pursuant to section 27 FSMA, due to the SIPP and investments being brought about as a consequence of unregulated activities, in breach of the general prohibition.

I have, in addition to the above, vast experience of dealing with cases involving mis-sold pensions, mortgages, SIPP mis-selling and unregulated collective investment schemes and have recently been involved in solicitors' negligence cases regarding negligent advice in relation to financial services disputes. usually relating to a failure to identify relevant causes of action.

I also have experience in other fields of professional negligence, such as solicitors, and accountants negligence.

I am an advocate of ADR and strive to achieve early resolutions for my clients, but however I am also well versed in the Court process and will proceed to trial to seek a remedy from the Court if necessary.
