Biography

Nishad has over 20 years of experience as a forensic accountant and has extensive experience of assessing liability and quantum of loss with respect to auditor and accounting professional negligence claims. This has included assessing whether complex transactions in company accounts comply with relevant financial reporting standards, whether audit work performed complies with relevant auditing standards, assessments around materiality and truth/fairness of accounts and formulating methodologies for calculating consequential loss suffered. He has worked with audit firms, regulators, insolvency practitioners, company directors and their external lawyers on such matters.

Nishad has also led numerous engagements involving the assessment of damages or contentious valuation, working closely with clients and their legal representatives in both commercial litigation and international arbitration. He has also led numerous post-acquisition completion and earnout disputes, whether acting as a party appointed advisor or an independent expert determiner.

He also has significant expertise of accounting and financial investigations in the contexts of alleged financial fraud, misrepresentation claims, regulatory proceedings and insolvency litigation. He also has extensive experience with assessing compensation and consequential loss claims, having worked on several mass claims arising from major public scandals.
